Jim Cramer, born February 10, 1955, in Pennsylvania, began his career by helping Steve Brill launch the magazine American Lawyer and began stock trading in law school. He then graduated from Harvard College with a degree in law and passed the New York State Bar. At Harvard, he was editor- in- chief and president of The Harvard Crimson. He reported for the Tallahassee Democrat and Los Angeles Herald Examiner on topics ranging from sports to the Ted Bundy murders. At one point he even worked for Governor Jerry Brown. In 1984 Cramer worked for Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management in trading and sales while also writing about stock market issues for The New Republic. Cramer is the co-anchor on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street,” the host of “Mad Money with Jim Cramer” and the host of CNBC’s “Mad Money.” His stock market mentality is that there is always a bull market somewhere, and his goal is to help investors find it. He also was a founder of a multimedia provider of financial commentary, TheStreet.com, in 1996. He also was an editor at large for the magazine SmartMoney. He was a hedge fund manager, founder, owner and senior partner at Cramer Berkowitz until retirement in 2001. He published “Jim Cramer’s Get Rich Carefully,” a guide on investing in December of 2013. He also wrote “Confessions of a Street Addict,” “Mad Money: Watch TV, Get Rich,” “Jim Cramer’s RealMoney,” “Jim Cramer’s Getting Back to Even,” and “Stay Mad for Life: Get Rich, Stay Rich.” Cramer had a radio show until December 2006 called Jim Cramer’s Real Money. Apart from the television shows he hosts, he has been featured on Arrested Development, CBS’ 60 Minutes, Late Night and MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Meet the Press, Today, The Martha Stewart Show, Iron Man, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Live with Regis and Kelly, The Tonight Show, ESPN’s Classic, NBC’s Nightly News with Brian Williams, and more.
